Working within a health and social care settings often involves moving, lifting, or otherwise manually handling the people within your care.
Our moving and handling training courses are designed to educate participants regarding both the requirements and risks associated with moving people safely.Lifting in particular poses a big risk to both the lifter and especially to the person being lifted for healthcare organisations, including; hospitals, care homes, leisure and education, as poor lifting techniques and incorrect equipment can in fact make existing conditions worse for both parties. We provide specialist equipment to assist throughout the practical training sessions, ensuring staff know when and how to use it and with the safest techniques.
After this course staff will:
Be able to demonstrate safe lifts and move clients in a dignified and respectful way.
Be able to assess the associated risks.
Understand relevant Health and Safety Legislation
Know how to protect yourself and the people using the service from unsafe manoeuvres
“I have done some training in this area before for these courses (manual handling), but this has been the best so far. I would like to say a big thank you to Lorraine for the best training I have ever received.”

“Being new to the care sector, I was quite nervous going into my first training session. However the fantastic trainers quickly put my mind at ease and were happy to go explain and go over points again. 10/10!”

“The training was very well demonstrated and we got lots of hands on experience practicing with the equipment and hoists. We all had a great laugh as well while training which made it very enjoyable and fun. “
